The "Surveying the Agents of a Galaxy's Evolution" (SAGE) dataset is a Spitzer
Legacy survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud (~7d by 7d) using IRAC and MIPS
with the goal of studying star formation and the ISM. A similarly named
"SAGE-Spectroscopy: The Life Cycle of Dust and Gas in the Large Magellanic
Cloud" (SAGE-Spec) survey followed up with IRS and MIPS-SED spectra of a
representative sample of point sources and extended regions in the LMC. The
warm mission program "An Infrared Survey of Variability in the Magellanic
Clouds" (SAGE-Var) further used four epochs of IRAC imaging to probe
variability in the bar of both of the galaxies.
If you use SAGE data, please cite the journal articles Meixner et al. (2006) for the survey, Kemper et al. (2010) for SAGE-Spec spectra, and Riebel et al. (2015) for SAGE-Var catalogs, as well as the dataset Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for the survey (10.26131/IRSA404) and DOIs for each individual SAGE catalog which can be found here. |
